Roman Gaul, Britain, and Hispania were Rome's western provinces in modern France, Britain, and Iberia. Conquest brought roads, aqueducts, towns, and Latin administration. They supplied grain, metals, wine, and troops to the empire.
Local elites gradually adopted Roman ways, creating a Gallo-Roman and Hispano-Roman culture. When Rome weakened, Germanic invasions and internal crises broke imperial control. The western provinces then passed to Visigoths, Franks, and Anglo-Saxons.
