The Thracians were Indo-European peoples of the Balkans, known for tribal kingdoms, goldwork, and fierce warriors. They lived in modern Bulgaria, Romania, and northern Greece. Their culture influenced Greek myth and music.
Persia and Greece both fought and hired Thracians. Rome conquered them by the 1st century CE. Their language and identity faded under Roman and later Slavic settlement.
